Following two gestational diabetes tests, and many many vials of blood drawn, we went a little crazy on Japanese food. Three times in two days. What is healthier and tastier than Japanese food, especially following such a scare.
The meal will always start off with an appetiser of Japanese salad with a really simple and tasty sauce. I love the taste of the sauce so since it’s Japanese curry night, I thought to try it out for myself.
Recipe adapted from justonecookbook.
1 Tsp ginger (grated, with juice)
1 Tsp garlic (grated, with juice)
1/2 Tsp seaseme oil
2 Tbsp soy sauce (I used Japanese kelp sauce)
1 Tbsp rice vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar)
1 Tsp sugar
Freshly ground black pepper
(Optional) Seaseme seeds
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix everything together.
- Drizzle on top of a simple salad.
Really any vegetables you would like in your salad. I usually add some leftover salad worthy vegetables into my salads.

You can also add cucumbers, some slices of capsicum, shredded carrots, red raddish, wakame! Really anything you would like in your salad.
